As the half-brother of Jesus, I have a unique perspective on who He is and what it was like to grow up in His shadow.
For the first 30 years of His life, everyone thought He was just Mary and Joseph's first born son. During that time, Jesus became a skilled carpenter, following in His earthly father's footsteps. Their reputation was stellar in the area.
We were your typical family in Nazareth, father Joseph was a skilled carpenter, mother Mary an amazing homemaker. Then there was Jesus.
He turned water into wine
He healed the sick
Gave sight to the blind
Made the lame to walk
Raised people from the dead
Walked on water
Calmed the storms
Fed 5,000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish

Consider what it was like for me to play hide-n-seek with the Son of God. I could never find Him and He could always find me.

I became angry as Jesus healed the centurion's servant as Jesus declared this soldier to have the greatest faith of anyone in Israel.
They arrested my perfect, sinless brother.
Jesus told us several times that He would be arrested, but we didn't understand or believe it.
They put Him on trial.
What were the crimes He committed? Healing the sick, comforting the hurting people, teaching what it was really like to follow God, encouraging people to live sinless lives, forgiving people of their mistakes and sins. Then he claimed to be God, the Great I AM.
They scourged Him 39 times.
Pilot, Herod, and Caiaphas were cowards and didn't want blood on their hands. They didn't want to take the blame for having Jesus punished so they kept passing the buck. Pilot even washed his hand in a ceremonial washing.
They crucified Him on a cross where He died.
While Scripture doesn't mention it, if your brother was being murdered, crucified, wouldn't you be there to try to prevent it?
